Ottawa

Ottawa is the political center of Canada and the headquarters of the federal government. 

It is located in the southern portion of the province of Ontario, at the confluence of the Ottawa River and the Rideau River.

Ottawa has a city population of around 1,000,000 and a metropolitan population of 1,500,000, making it the fourth-largest city and fourth-largest metropolitan area in Canada.

Thousand Islands – Canada and USA

The Thousand Islands is a North American archipelago of 1,864 islands, on the  Saint Lawrence River. The Canadian islands are in the province of Ontario and the U.S. islands in the state of New York. The archipelago stretches for 50 miles and the islands range in size from outcropping rocks, small islands with a single residence to islands over 40 square miles.

Toronto

Toronto is the most populous city in Canada and the capital city of the Canadian province of Ontario. With a population of 2,794,356 in 2021,vc it is the fourth-most populous city in North America. Together with other 25 urban, suburban and rural municipalities form the Greater Toronto Area with around 6,000,000 people.

We visited Toronto several times in the last few years and this post reflects this and our past visits to the area.
