Montreal is the largest city in the province of Quebec.
With a population of around 1,800,000 and a metropolitan population of around 4,300,000 it is the second-largest in Canada, and the eighth-largest city in North America.
The village was founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, or “City of Mary”, and was centered near Mount Royal, the triple-peaked mountain, from where it borrowed it’s modern name.

The Saint Joseph’s Oratory sits on top of Mount Royal. It provides beautiful vies of the town.






The Olympic Stadium, located at Olympic Park was buit in the mid-1970s as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics,






Other notable places in town are: Place D’arms, Notre Dame de Montreal Basilica, Chateau Ramezay, Fina Arts Museum, McCord Museum, Montreal Archeological Museum, Mary Queen of the World Cathedral, Place Cartier, and many other interesting squares and streets.
