Rose Blanche Lighthouse was built in 1873 with stone from a nearby granite quarry.
The developed 4 acre site has a small Fisherman’s Museum, gift shop, the Lightkeeper’s Inn and the original lighthouse building with the light keepers living quarters. A walking trail offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Rose Blanche harbor.

We got there early afternoon and the area was surrounded by fog highlighting the importance of navigational structures like this during the 19th century. The fog gave put a special note to our visit.
Towards the end the day, most of the fog have already dissipated and the prediction was for good weather the next day. We asked permission to camp on site and revisit next morning.
