Located on the Bay of Islands at the mouth of the Humber River, the city is the second-largest population centre in the province behind St. John’s,

The area was surveyed by Captain James Cook in 1767.
We visited The Captain James Cook Historic Site that stands on Crow Hill overlooking the city.









From there we continue to follow the road towards Blow Me Down Provincial Park.
The park is located on The Bay of Islands. Instead of camping on the regular campsites we asked permission to dry camp on the beach facing York Harbour.
