Taylor Highway runs between Tetlin Junction and the historic town of Eagle at the margin of the Yukon river.

The first day of our road trip we travelled between Tetlin and Jack Wade passing through Chicken village

The segment of the Taylor Highway from Tetlin to Jack Wade is travelled by those who leave Dawson city following the Top of the World Highway until it intersects Taylor Highway near Jack Wade and from there reach Tetlin and later Tok.

The road cuts through some of the earliest and richest gold mining areas in Alaska. Although we were still one month from the Fall season we could see the foliage starting to change colors
