Reindeer Farm – Palmer

The area around Palmer has a lot of agriculture: Dairy farms, vegetable producers, even beekeepers.

The Reindeer Farm in Palmer is set on a 200 acre plot. It was part a colony started in 1935 by the U.S. Army to increase agricultural production in the far north. Over the years, the owner family has added several rescued and domesticated animals such as Elk, Moose, Horses, Yak, Bison, Alpaca, Llama, Highland Cattle, Pigs, Chicken, and of course Reindeer.
